The Travel Day That Could Have Gone So Wrong

Well what a travel day! It was supposed to be simple, 6:30 pickup at Tikal, dropped off at the intersection to Belize to be picked up by my next transfer.

Unexpressed Amends

Jan/18 I hate f**king up, I really do. I especially hate f**king up when it hurts a kid or an animal. It hurts to have to sit with it and not have the opportunity to make amends.

Days 2 and 3, Bamfield, BC

Bamfield is a rough little neighbourhood made up of people who are tough and self-sufficient enough to survive within this stunning remote wilderness

First Day of My Vancouver Island Vacation!

Goats on the roof, horses and amazing Margherita Pizza – Can the first day of a vacation get any better than this!?

My Birth Day Present – meet Dana

My birth days suck, it’s just how it rolls and I just try to deal the best I can. This birth day was supposed to be different cause I was going to cuddle baby monkeys all day and night. I didn’t and it wasn’t. I consoled myself with ½ bottle of Fat Bastard (wine, not a person). But!

February 5, 2017 in Africa, Responsible Travel, South Africa, Travelling Solo, volunteering.

Why Crone?

Why crone indeed. Well it is all about empowerment. Crone is a word that has been turned into yet another weapon to make women feel crappy about growing old.
So I want to take all the air out of that balloon & use it to help me fly by hoisting my crone flag high and proud. You know - "I am crone hear me roar" etc etc. I may not be the wisest one out there but I am a hell of a lot wiser than I was 30 years ago and that's all anyone can really hope for, right?
