Costa Rica

How Do You Choose Your Vacation Location?

How do you choose where to go on a trip? Do magazine articles with their glossy photos grab your imagination. Can you suddenly see yourself on that beach, in that bikini, with that guy/girl? How about word of mouth? Well that’s how I decided in 2012 to go to Costa Rica… the words and feelings…

Chapter 5 It’s a Wrap Folks!

Well almost 3 months later, the last chapter is done… life has a way of sucking up my energy and time. Usually when I travel I spend as little time in cities as I can, especially where the big airports are. Lets face it I get to live in one of the most beautiful cities…

Chapter 4 (lordy this is as bad as the Lord of the Rings series!) Pretty Panama

As you may recall from a previous posting, I had planned nothing for my last week. I wanted to give spontaneous a go since the first 5 weeks were pretty structured and you never know what gems you’ll hear about when you are on the ground. Puerto Viejo is so close to the Panama border…

Chapter 3 Jaguar Rescue Center (be prepared to be sloth-ed!)

I gotta say, Jaguar Rescue Center was my favourite experience during my 6 weeks in Costa Rica. This is a powerful brew and a mighty weapon…

Chapter 2! Puerto Viejo Area

There is a little known secret about the east coast of Costa Rica, south of Limón – it actually belongs to Jamaica! The rumour floated by the rasta-wannabes is that the Jamaican navy will be arriving to make good their claim as soon as their stoned sailors remember where their ship is… not to mention…

Why Crone?

Why crone indeed. Well it is all about empowerment. Crone is a word that has been turned into yet another weapon to make women feel crappy about growing old.
So I want to take all the air out of that balloon & use it to help me fly by hoisting my crone flag high and proud. You know - "I am crone hear me roar" etc etc. I may not be the wisest one out there but I am a hell of a lot wiser than I was 30 years ago and that's all anyone can really hope for, right?
